It is interesting that they chose to offer it to customers instead of just selling it to a discounter like Tuesday Morning. I suppose that might have damaged their brand. I've thought for the last few years that they were headed toward huge overstocks by not having periodic sales. Buttons, ribbon, and patterned paper in every color is a lot of inventory and trends are changing. When people complained on the forum that they were no longer offering buttons in the newer ink colors Nicole replied that they just were not selling a lot of buttons anymore. I get the feeling that things have slowed a bit for them and they have so much competition from the newer stamp and die companies. Three of their designers left this year and two of them are continuing to design for other companies. I suppose that's typical turnover though.
maybe now they will have periodic sales...? when they first came out I liked them but couldn't afford it...and then I would "wait for a sale" that never came...so then I just never bought anything...now I probably overbought...lmbo

I have a smaller space so I didn't buy much but if you are going to use it and have the space it was a heck of a deal. A not too attractive 6x6 paper pad at a discount store is often $3. I think their products are good quality. I use their paper almost exclusively and I think the price point on cardstock is pretty good for the weight of the paper.
No I don't but what I have bought in the past, just a few sets, was not as heavy as the 110# cardstock but it was fine for what I used it for. Seemed kind of similar to a lot of the 6X6 out there maybe a little heavier, definitely not flimsy. Maybe someone who got a bunch of it could chime in.
To the best of my knowledge, PTI's patterned paper is 67#; it is a very nice weight. I bought a lot. My box weighed 103 pounds.

Ha! Think of all the stuff you have for PIFs now. LOL.
A few years ago, they started having a sale in February for the anniversary release. (I wonder if they will still have that with the anniversary release pushed to March.) Anyhow, in theory, this year it would be 10% for their 10th anniversary.
Just an FYI - Papertrey is no longer going to carry ribbons at all once they sell off their inventory. So if you like any of ribbons, I would stock up today with the last day of their sale because they are going back to the original price tomorrow. I am huge fan of ribbons so I ordered about 50 something rolls at the discounted rate! New patterned papers are going to be released too, so if you still have any paper faves now to get, I'd get them while they are on sale!!!
Well that's a real bummer! :( I loved getting all the matchy, matchy ribbon and paper and ink. Thankfully I did stock up on a lot of ribbon on the sale (no shipping notice yet) but that means that the new colors will never have ribbon to match. I do understand that for fiscal reasons, if it isn't selling, they might not be able to afford to continue carrying it. Still bummed about it though.
SU's cardstock is 80#; Papertrey's cardstock is 110#.
I'm not sure how heavy SU's patterned paper is, but Papertrey's is 67#.

Are you sure about them no longer carrying ribbon? I haven't been able to find anything that, although I admit, it is possible I just missed it.
I think they said they were not adding the new colors in ribbon. There is still some for sale in original colors but I'm kind of guessing they won't restock when it's gone. I'm just a customer so don't have any inside info.
I found a question someone posted in their forum about this. Nichole answered that they were not discontinuing ribbon, but she also didn't indicate whether they would be adding ribbon for the new colors, so I asked. Heather responded that basically ribbon isn't trending now (at least not at PTI) but, if demand increased, ribbon in the newer colors might happen.
Makes sense. I've always thought they kept a huge inventory. I'm surprised they continue to offer all their original dies. Seems like a lot of stuff. I used to order every month but now maybe small orders every three months or so. I bought more when Laura Bassem was on the design team. They have a couple of new designers that I have followed on other sites like Keeway and Stephanie Gold.
I know that a few people are getting substitutions on some of the paper. From what I read some people cancelled their orders after they saw the possible wait time so things out of stock were thrown back into inventory. One person on the forum got a sub for silver foiled paper, stuff like that. I don't know what reprinting the label would mean except that maybe the weight changed. I have never had them fail to ship, lose the order, or had the wrong stuff so there is hope there.
