Has anyone Adopted from China???

I am starting the process to adopt from China and was wondering if there are any ladies on the list that are or have already adopted? I would love to get to know you and talk about the process. I have so many questions and would love to make some friends who are in the same boat.

Yes, I have adopted twice from China in 1996 and 1999. The most valuable info will be provided by those currently adopting or those that just completed the process (international adoption is an ever changing process).

Friends of mine adopted fm China... I know a bit of what they went through.
Though I am sure the regs are different for Canada as opposed to the USA.

My niece adopted a little girl from China a couple of years ago. She's amazing! I'll e-mail her and see if she can give you any information.

Our daughter was born in Zhanjiang China. you may want to try the yahoogroup APC ( adoptive Parents for China) or something along those lines.

I know the wait has increased a lot since we went our daughter is 7 her gotcha day anniversary is coming up the 16 of this month. I'm still plugged into our agency adoption yahoogroup. THey are saying that it looks like over 2 year wait.

One of my best friends adopted from China, 3 years ago, I would say her wait was about 1 1/2 years. Lots of waiting....
Her daughter is the light of my life! So adorable and smart! The local group that all got their daughters at the same time have all had great experiences with their new children.

I was so excited to stumble upon this thread. I have never come to this forum before. Anyway, I'm not sure how soon we will be ready but we do plan to adopt from China so I would love to converse with you. I will send you an e-mail tomorrow. We are moving to Manitoba. We leave Tuesday.
