Sending giant hugs your way. Congrats on this accomplishment. I know I would be thrilled to be amongst the "best" and have a say in stamp designing. It's wonderful news.
Oh, Cindy, I am so happy for you and excited, cause I LOVE MFT!!! You already know I'm a big fan, and love viewing all the goodies in your gallery. Can't wait to see all the fabulous new designs you will be coming up with!
BIG CONGRATULATIONS AND HUGS!
You Guys, I'm overwhelmed with your Kinds words. You all make me feel so special, and I want to thank-you all for looking at my gallery. I enjoy lookin' at alll your gallleries too.
Congrats to Cindy Haffner for making it onto the MFT design team. AND I think she has accomplished this feat without a blog (correct me if I am wrong....and if I am....point me in the direction of her blog cause I'd want to read it!).
I am under the impression it really helps a card maker to get on design teams, if they blog. I think Cindy is an exception because of her fantastic talent and is so well-known on this site. What stamp company wouldn't want her??
(and congrats to Dawn, as well! Way to go!!!!!!!!!! You are awesome!congrats to Cammie on her new stamp set with GinaK!!!!!!!! and to all the 10 gals who made it on the CHF design team....wonderful news for all of you).
Hope I have not missed anyone!
So, if you don't blog, chances are you are going to be struggling to make a design team, right? What do you think? (unless your talent is SUPER-SUPERIOR).
Hi Denise...what a super sweet post. Thanks so much for including me on your congrats!
Yep...Cindy is AWESOME, no doubt about that...but as far as the design team thing goes---I don't blog either! Shocking I know. I am on a design team and also design for another company who found me through SCS and then the Gina K thing!!
So....what I am saying is that you dont have to be a Haffner (hee...that sounded neat!) OR have a blog----just have fun creating and the rest will fall into place!!!
I have no idea whether or not having a blog necessarily influences consideration on DT apps, but, Cindy is, without any doubt, an extremely talented and awesome artist, and I am positively thrilled and excited for her over this news!
Go, girl!

I can't seem to find on their website who made the design team...have a link? Thanks!
Check out announcements forum for all the new designers. Sorry, I think the 10 that made it on to CHF design team are on Mona Lisa's blog, which I don't have handy. And am racing out the door to work!!
Wohoo! Congrats Cindy! So exciting! I love your work! Congrats also to the great new Cornish Heritage Farms Fresh Faces team! Loads of talent there for sure!!!!
Just thought I'd note...not all designers have blogs... Sharon (notimetostamp) is a fabulous part of the Flourishes design team.
There is just so much talent on this site! Amazing!
BTW, I wanted to add that while I can only guess at what factors into the selection process, based on what I've observed, the most essential factor is whether or not the designer's work/style/skill "fits" the needs of the manufacturer.
This can be showcased in many ways, including public galleries, such as here on SCS, through email jpg. submissions, a physical portfolio, through blogs, through online resum services (which do exist--had one for a year, and, nothing ever came of it), print pub resums, webshots galleries, etc.
A blog is just one of various avenues for showcasing one's artwork, but, I'd be surprised if having one weighed all that heavily in the decision to accept or decline a DT app, because blogs are so densely prevalent now, UKWIM?
I tend to believe it has far more to do with "fit" than any other factor.
Of course, I could be totally off base. LOL!

I think you're right on target.
Blogging isn't mandatory. Cindy's skills alone are what earned her the spot on the DT.

You do not have to blog to make it on to a design team.
I think sometimes it might seem that way because bloggers tend to submit their stuff to design teams more often. They treat stamping more like a business. They also can apply by saying, stop by my blog and see my work. So, it may be a little easier for some bloggers to get a design team position because they don't necessarily have to make and send cards to everyone. They can reach more companies all at once than someone who has to hand make projects and send them in. They can send an email and a link to start. If the company expresses interest, then they can make and send the company cards knowing they already have a contact.
That being said, I would bring a designer on who did not have a blog.
Someone like Cindy doesn't need anything more that her two hands and her very creative brain to get a design team position! LOL! Her work speaks for itself. But I agree with Julie, every company has different needs so the best thing to do is try.
Congrats Cindy!
Hugs,
Gina K.

Congratulations Cindy! It couldn't have happened to a nicer person; not only is your gallery terrific, but you're ALWAYS out there encouraging others with your sweet comments. Thanks for that and the best of luck with the new assignment!
