Here is a card I found while doing some surfing and thought it is a great and unique way to use a small scrap of ribbon with a brad! Never really seen this before!
I made a card with a half circle for a sun and used different colored ribbons for the rays. Sorry, I don't have a picture of it, I gave it to a friend of mine.

Thanks Angie for linking my card. This is a great idea for a thread. Here are a couple more ideas for ribbons. If you look at the name under my username... It explains my passion.
If you have short bits, you can tie them round a chipboard frame or monogram.
I made a lovely flower by doing a sort of ribbon embroidery, punched holes in some acetate and threaded the ribbon through to make big petals. I'll upload a photo later...it's not on the laptop.
Here's a show I did using ribbon in a variety of ways - making flowers, frames, backgrounds - I did it on LO's but you could apply the same techniques to cards.
I think this is my favorite way to use s shorter piece of ribbon. I used wide grosgrain here, but it works really well with the ribbon originals: Love You by stampwithdiane at Splitcoaststampers
I also love ribbon but hardly use it just because I don't know how! I really think that Faith (markiesmom) needs to do a tutorial on how she makes her beautiful ribbon....

Here's what I did as a sort of ribbon embroidery. Umm - it was for our anniversary two or 3 years back so I don't remember all the details, but I do remember I punched holes with an eyelet punch in a small square of acetate, and threaded the ribbon through. Looking at it now reminds me that I have seen some lovely iris-folding technique done with ribbons, so there's another possibility.
Thanks for sharing all these creative ways to use ribbon!!

In my spare time (ha!) I love to stamp, scrapbook,
{blog} and eat chocolate. Not necessarily in that order.
Great Ideas!, I went to a store last year that had a great idea for ribbon. Duplicate the look of a memo board that has the criss crosses that you can tuck pictures and such behind, only for the card tuck a small tag behind one for the ribbons with your message, such as Thinking of you. It is really easy to make and you can use up smaller pieces. Cut various lengths between 6-10 inches. Alternate the criss crossing with different colors and patterns of ribbon and use cordinating eyeletts or brads at each end to hold the ribbon, take the end of the ribbon wrapped around to the back of the front fold of the card and secure with tape, then glue a cordinating color of cardstock on the back of the front fold to cover the ends. If anyone wants a scanned copy email me and I can send it to you or fax it over.

Love all the ideas, but I do actually mail my cards, so what does one do with all the lush ribbon bows, the curled ribbon candle flames, etc., to keep them from being crushed out of recognition?
