Just wondering who here is in Maryland. My upline is in Vermont, so I don't have anyone to stamp with and I'd love to meet some friends (or come to downline meetings as an adopted kid). ;) Or just have a SCS get-tigether/stamp-a-thon.
I live outside of Baltimore, near Gettysburg, PA--or, if you know the area, I live in Taneytown (outside of Westminster), but we are actually in Frederick County and thus, closer to Emmitsburg.
Anyone who lives anywhere near Emmitsburg is welcome to come to the library on October 21st. I'm teaching a "totally hands on" type of class (no fee and lots of make & takes).
I look forward to hearing from you guys!

Hi Nicole - I live in Gettysburg,PA and I just moved here from Frederick, MD. Well, I moved a year ago - but it seems like it was more recent! I grew up in MD and My Husband works in Frederick as a Firefighter. I would love to get together sometime. Please email me - I have a group that I stamp with once a week - I will give you details. I am an "orphaned" Demoer too - so, I know what you're going through! Please email me and I will give you the info about the Stamp Club that I'm in. [email protected] - Michelle
Are you talking to another Pam? Or did you just remember that I've responded to other topics about being in MD? Really, if you think about it, I'm really not that far away - just 5 hours (by plane).
I'm in Hagerstown - about an hour from Taneytown. My sister went to Western MD College (now McDaniel College), so I know the area some. We have a group here that meets monthly (about 10 of us).

I'm in Eldersburg in Carroll County. That's close to Mt Airy and Westminster. I'm about 30 minutes from Columbia and about 50 minutes from Germantown/Boyds. It's a small world!
Ok . . . so how do we go about organizing this????
Anyone want to take the lead? I'd volunteer . . . but I think my dh would kill me if I did. (If you knew me, you'd understand why!) I'd be happy to help, though!
Maybe DH has some Firehouse connections in the Frederick area - Maybe we could "rent" a Firehall and just gettogether and Scrap,Stamp and Chat! And eat chocolate! LOL!
Ok - I will ask him to ask around and I'll post when I hear something - Anyone else have any ideas about locations? Are you at all particular to the geographic location? Please email me if you have any suggestions/ideas! Thanks - Michelle
Michelle -- That sounds like a great idea! And Frederick does seem like a great location -- coming from your part of PA, Eldersburg, and Montgomery County . . . it's almost a central location. I guess once we hear from some stampers on the Eastern shore, though, it won't be!
I guess once we hear from some stampers on the Eastern shore, though, it won't be!
Not Eastern Shore but almost! I am *just* north of Annapolis!
Frederick is about an hour form me - and Emmitsburg - You can SPIT and hit the PA line! - you are about 1 45 minutes from me! But you gotta like Piggy Dukes!
Okay - This sounds like it's entering the early planning phase - So - What kind of time frame are we looking at? I would love for it to be sometime before Thanksgiving - I have a TON of things to work on. Is a Saturday preferable for most people? Or a Friday Evening? I do most of my workshops on Friday eves. So, a Saturday would probably be better for me - but let me know - I will go with the general concensus when planning and asking about availability.
This sounds soooooooooooooo fun! I'm excited!
Hey do you Ladies know about the Chesapeake Stamping Expo? It's in Gettysburg on October 9,10th (I think) Seconds Friday and Saturday. Tons of Vendors and classes. I will add a link to the webpage - Check it out! Maybe we could have a meetup there!
Lisa, yes I've been to the Second Floor Scrapbook Store MANY times. I could walk to it! It's a fantastic store, but somewhat expensive. I've gotten some paper in a pinch but the quality is not SU. They do have a huge selection of stamps. What I love most is that they have great classes and Demo Days.
Rats, I'll be in San Francisco the weekend of the Expo. I would have loved to have gone.
Let me know what help you all need for planning the get together. I'm up for helping, just can't volunteer to organize right now. I'm overwhelmed with baseball season and PTA stuff. I've got three boys playing ball, and it seems like I'm always at a game or a practice or forcing someone to do their homework when they're way too tired.
I am a Demo in Sykesville, MD.
My DH works in Columbia and we are around town there ALL the time. Not to mention I go to Second Floor Scrapbook store too!
They are moving to a bigger store in a new shopping center not far from where they are now.
We also get a group of women together and do crop nights at Recollections in Columbia. That is the NEW scrapbook/stamp store. We have a lot of fun. We are going again Nov. 20th!!!!!
Anyone want to join us????

--and for those wondering about Recollections in Columbia ~ I have been a scrapper for about 8+ years and have been to many types of scrapbook stores. When I walked in my mouth hit the floor and I couldn't get a coherent word out for 10 minutes! (Lisa can verify that this rarely happens!) They had tons of stuff that up until now I could only find on the internet. Did I convey that its worth the trip?
I agree with Carolyn! I'm about an hour away from Frederick (live in No. VA) and I wanna stamp too! *stompin' my foot*
After all I grew up in MD, went to college in MD, have family and friends still in MD....
Carolyn -- sounds like a great idea -- does anyone have any thoughts on a location? Someone (Michelle?) had said that she would check with her husband about renting a fire hall in the Frederick area . . . any news on that?
I know that it's not all that expensive to rent a room at the Germantown Community Center for a few hours . . . OR -- we could do a private crop at Scrapbook Corner in Germantown on a Friday night -- I believe that it costs $5 per person to rent it out (A BARGAIN) -- the only problem is that it doesn't really hold that many of us, maybe 2 per table . . . 5 tables total? My friend rented it out one Friday night for a birthday party for herself, and it was really fun to have the place to ourselves.
