It's Sabrina here as your hostess this week, and I have a fairly open challenge for us all. I know some don't make resolutions, but some of us do, and those who don't can always "borrow" someone else's resolution.
What are your hopes and goals in your card-making this year? Do you want to use more DP, use under-used supplies, get out of your normal rut, be adventurous and try more new techniques, send more cards out? Whatever you have as a resolution or even just an aspiration for this year, let it inspire you in your card-making today. Make sure when you upload to "show us your resolve" and tell us what triggered your card.
My usual goals every year are to use more DP and to use more ribbon. I guess I have a handle on the DP because I still just have one shoe box, and I've certainly bought/been gifted some during the last year so it's staying stable. I even used up quite a bit from my pizza box of assorted scraps of 12 x 12 on various projects. But I never seem to be able to find yellow or green!! Ribbon I'm not so good at - I do love the look of little ribbon tabs and that's something I'd like to do more. I think I need to make space on my desk and put a little container with ribbon scraps in as a reminder.
For my cards today I went with using up DP, and knocked out 4 bridge cards. For me, the best ways of using up DP are following sketches and using certain fun folds. I'm really happy because I now only have two sheets of Material Girl left and I think I can finally rename the "Euphoria" divider in my shoebox. I also broached two new packs of paper.
Have fun creating something today inspired by your own goals or a borrowed one, then upload it using the keyword WT723 - it's also a great help to the hostesses if you come by and post a link here. And (I hold my own hand up high!) if there was a typo with the keyword, it means we still get to see it. Don't forget to share your resolution with us!
If you're not sure how to add a link, here's how:
1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one for your card in the gallery, and one for this thread
2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link.
3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on)
4. Click EDIT. Click COPY
5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.
As always I thank my teammates for their inspiring resolutions and samples: Cathy, Carla, and Lisa have shown their resolve to great effect.
What a nice way to start off the New Year...I'll think on it and get back. Having recently been gifted a wonderful bridge card, I am curious about those...Thank you inspiration hostess, Sabrina!

Sabrina, your challenge is just what I needed to get off to a good start in using my stash. I used one pre colored image and two pieces from my bg pile! Thanks for the inspiration, here's my card, WT723 Here's to Old and Dear Friends.
Great challenge Sabrina. I really need more challenges where I can use up a stack of stuff on my table. I have been organizing it and have started using it and finding ways to use it to get it used. Here is my card.
Thanks for the fun challenge, Sabrina! I have managed to collect so many EF's and Stencils, so...I resolve to use them more! Here's my card: So Blessed.

It's a shoe-box of 6" pads, and yes, that's most of my printed DP. I do have about 5 8" pads stacked up, and then random sheets of 12x12 because it's always useful. That would be two Cropper Hopper files, beside my desk. But I tend to keep it more for projects that require the larger size.
I do have two pizza boxes full of Bazzill, too, but that's card not paper ;-). Mostly I enjoy making my own backgrounds - you'd never have guessed - but sometimes paper is just so easy and sometimes it's just so pretty.
Great challenge, Sabrina. Enjoyed reading all the stampers resolutions. Mine would be to make my Christmas cards through the year. Here is my first card: WT723 Resolution by Holstein at Splitcoaststampers
Terrific challenge for January! I had resolved at the beginning of the year when I make a card to use all the extras when I make them (if at all possible) and not save them for another day.
Great challenge! I combined two resolutions - to use more of my decorative paper and to make at least 10 Christmas cards a month (this is number 9 for January):
Here is mine, Sabrina! Thank you! I should do some more for this challenge. Can I do a scrap page? I save edges of 12 by 12 when I trim it! So am thinking of a scrap pages or pages to use some of it.
Sabrina, I am so thankful you came up with this Cardmaking Resolutions Challenge. I had been pondering this very subject and your challenge inspired me to get off my duff and do it!
I have two cardmaking goals this year. One is to make as many Christmas cards as I can stand to make before the weather turns nice. The 2nd goal is to use those new items I’ve added to my stash in the past year (an embarrassing amount of items!).
Thanks for letting me play along in this challenge!
I know I am late, but Sabrina this challenge was too good to pass up. I have a lot of goals this year. One is to use old cards for toppers (so some of you may see your card on mine). Two is to make ten Christmas cards per month. Three is to do more commenting, more cards, just more. #3 will really be a challenge! giggles.
My card today, the middle is taken from a card I received from my cousin recently.

Thanks, Lisa! My main resolution for my card is to use more Mixed Media and add mediums which I am normally afraid to use. I also used up several scraps plus a stencil which I have never used before. There is way too much stuff in my stash which I've never touched.
Now this is my kind of idea for working on resolutions! Thanks for the fun, Sabrina! Here's my matching card and envelope set... Done not only on time, but a few weeks ahead of schedule so I don't feel the last minute panic I experienced so many times making cards in the last 6 months! Haha www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/2910072
Blessings,
C

This is such an awesome challenge! My resolution in card making this year is to be happy with the products that I have and the projects I create. I realized I haven't used stencils and inks to their full potential, so I decided to use them along with a stamp set I have not used a lot. I really enjoyed making this one and I'm happy with how it turned out! Here is my card:
I have two more cards to add to this challenge.
One of my cardmaking resolutions for this year was to use previously unused items in my stamping stash. These cards both used items that have been in my stash for more years than I care to admit!
I am making three resolutions for 2019 cardmaking: 1) focus on using up my oldest patterned paper in my stash and refrain from buying more; 2) use under-used supplies, stamps, and tools; and 3) make it a priority to finish MUST-DO cards and on time, such as this baby shower card for my youngest daughter.

I plan to make multiples of fairly simple cards this year. Some will get mailed quickly and others will be donated.
