Did the title of my challenge pique your interest? Don't worry you won't need your cellphone for this challenge.
Challenge: Make a background by pasting various texts to some cardstock. Please limit your choices to black and white texts. Use a variety of texts: old book pages, phone books, sheet music, newspapers, magazines, stamped script. You will end up with different shades by using a variety of materials.
Process: Cut or tear your pieces. If you're really precise you could die cut them. I used a glue stick to apply my text pieces. Layer them, create a collage...I added some interest by sewing, paper piercing, and sponging.
New to Mixed Media? Please use two or more mediums on your project. See this post for a list of materials.
Here's mine. I'll comment when I can - less time available to spend online just now. My friend has joined me in my still rather cold attic (52F) and we're both sitting in little pools of local heat, she reading and me making my card. But we'll be heading downstairs soon I'd say .
Here is mine... I did squeak in some printed text papers because, all my vintage book pages are all various shades of browns there is not much black and white in the mix
Here's mine, I used all kinds of sources for the texting part, then scuffed some distress inks on the collage to pull it together, added the floral images, and voila! - it's a card! Thanks for a wonderful inspiration, I intend to sit down today and have another try at it.

Polly, my first card is quite restrained with the text strips, cut and quite orderly. My second card is text gone wild! I've got a few more panels I'll be able to use.
