Challenge Title: Warm Up! Hostess: dini (Dina K) Keyword: MIX52
VIEW THE GALLERY FOR THIS CHALLENGE HERE
Ready for a new Mix-Ability challenge?!! We hope you're having fun with these! Our goal is to make mixed media, easy, approachable and FUN! We want to convince you that no matter what your style is - you can DO it!
I live in the tropics, but for most of you, winter weather must be getting a little stifling. So for this week's challenge, I want to see you warm up your projects and our gallery by using warm colors! (You can use black, white, and warm browns/greys as well.) Warm colors make up the half of the color wheel that includes the colors shown below... they are associated with the sun and fire, heat, warmth, and motion.
Remember, to keep things truly "mixed media", you need to use at least 2 different types of art media on your card. You can click HERE for a list of supplies to choose from. If you want to start these challenges in the pages of an art journal instead of a card, or on scrapbook pages, or on 3D items - please know - ANYTHING is welcome! We want you to learn and enjoy! I made myself an altered block to remind me to RELAX. It's pictured below.
Please remember to put in the correct keyword (MIX52) when uploading your image. Copying and pasting the challenge keyword is recommended to avoid typos. Then come back to this thread and paste a link to the card in your gallery so we can all ooh and ahhh! Go forth and create!
Dini, I just love your new stamps at IO...These colors are gorgeous (did some yesterday for WT...hahaha!) I have to work for a little bit today so I'll get back to this a little later!!

This is a card I made for this week's challenge:
I've been unable to post any new cards to the gallery since its upgrade, but it seems I can attach a tiny thumbnail here to the thread and still play with you all! Yay!!!!

I did cool colors yesterday so it was fun to play with the warm ones today. I had a gelatin plate print with acrylic paints that made a nice bg and used inks on my image panel. Warm Thoughts
I'd just had fun experimenting with PanPastels on canvas on Thursday so I tried something a bit bigger and added in some paint and stuff too. Thanks for the challenge, Dina!

Dina and Lydia, I didn't know where to post this, so I'm posting it here. What would you think of making a Forum for Mixed Media where newbies like me could ask questions about supplies, how to do some beginning basic things, etc??
I'm currently doing my FIRST EVER MM project - it's the Layered Gesso technique that Dina videoed a tutorial for a couple weeks ago. I have the second layer of Gesso drying and I have 4 card front panels. I figured as long as I've got the stuff out, I might as well do more than one!!
I'm an SU Demo, a CASE'er, and I started collecting some MM supplies over the past 6-12 months and TODAY I finally dove in. I think a Forum would be REALLY helpful! Just wanted to mention it. I hope Dina and Lydia see this here!! Thanks for these awesome challenges. I'm hoping to try one of these after I finish my other projects!! :-)

Hi there, Soozie! I'm one of the team members for Mix-Ability challenges. We have 2 threads for questions: 1. Does Mixed Media have to be Messy, and 2. What is the mix-ability challenge? You are welcome to post in either of those, or in any challenge forum if you have questions. We are delighted to have you joining us!

First off I apologize for the picture. I have waited 2 days for the clouds to disappear so I tried to take pictures today. I do not know how to turn the flash off the camera so my colors are really faded.... so that said.. I had fun doing this card.. I do hope it will warm your heart just a little bit..... all I can say is I would really like to see some sun soon.!!!!!!
Well it has been a loooong time since I have been able to do a challenge and I have missed them! I actually had this card done last week but was not able to load it until today. Anyway, here it is! Thanks for the great challenge Dina; it's nice to think of spring coming as the temperatures where I am are in the -35 degree Celcius range and the snow is coming down!
