Smile Question about Stazon Ink and Fabric?

Hi there Ladies and Gents! Can anyone tell me if they have used stazon ink on fabric and if it would stay on after washing, or if you could recommend anything to stamp name onto fabric when quilting? TIA!!!!!!

The pad itself says it's not recommended for fabric. I know that many people have success with Palette inks on fabric, pigment inks work as well. I'm not sure how they stand up to repetitive washings though.

versacraft is the best one to use - just heat set it!

another vote for versacraft....goes through the wash beautifully when heat set. The solvent in Staz-on I would stay away from with fabric...especially a beautiful quilt!

Yep - another vote for Versacraft! Lots of lovely colours to choose from, comes in cube pads as well as full size so you can get a bunch of colours without having to get too spendy, easy to set with an iron and it washes really beautifully! Nice crisp images, too.

The reason Stazon is not recommended for fabric (I asked Tsukineko directly) is that the solvent may eventually destroy the fibers of the fabric. Not a problem for short-lived stuff maybe but for a project that's going to be a around a long time you'd be best to avoid it.

Have fun!

Thanx to all who responded. Is versacraft the same as the craft ink pad that StampinUp has? I think it is but not sure. Thanks again everyone!

LU LU 7.....

Stampin' Up's version of pigment ink (they call it Craft) is not the same as Versacraft.
