WOOHOO! Half way through our 2009 Scrappin' Goal Challenge! We sure completed an AWESOME number of pages together in January, February, March , April & May! I'm looking forward to MORE Scrap pages together this month!
It was SO fun to see everyone's goals and ideas for completing LOTS of scrapbook pages last month! Many had a common theme - get more pages done, use what's in our stash, meet new scrapping friends, plan time/crops...
With that in mind, I thought I would invite all of you to June Scrapbook Challenge! Oh what fun we'll have sharing ideas, cheering success, keeping the motivation and making new friends.
Here's the CHALLENGE. Each person will post what their scrapbook page goal is for June. We will have a better shot at meeting our yearly goal if we break it down by month. Along with the scrapbook page goal for June if you'd like to play along with the "Using Stash Crew" decide what your scrapping budget will be for that month.
You choose your own scrapbook page goal and monthly spend goal. You may select 2, 3, 5, 50 pages....you choose. The idea is to be flexible so if you know you're going to be really busy, you can reduce the number one month or if you're going to a couple crops or scrap weekends, up the number. This also works for the budget. Each month, you can change your goals depending on your calendar!
The whole goal of the challenge is to get lots of pages done, use more in our stash before buying new (well at least keep track) and if you want to play along w/ saving --- save $$ at the same time which becomes scrapping budget $ for next year -- or vacation money or Holiday fund!
Money spent on Adhesive and Printing Pictures is not included in the monthly scrapping budget. We'll count pages 7x7 & up = 1 page for 1 page completed, 6x6 & smaller = 2 pages for 1 page completed.
Are you UP for the CHALLENGE? Come and Play in the 2009 Scrapbook Challenge! Woohoo for June!! Here's to Meeting our Scrapping Goals & Meeting New Friends!
**To make it easier for everyone to "oohh" and "aahh" over your pages, please upload your pages to SBC09JUN. **

I'm SURE you will all agree that we need to go back and add in our focus on our scrapping budgets! It's a good time of the year to start as we'll all want extra $$ for the holidays. Some of us have been using the "budget" idea since we started, others not so much. I decided it would be easier to split from the page goal posts. There are several ways to do this:
1. Set a $$ spending budget for the month & track your expenditures against budget set.
2. Match your scrapbook/stamping spending by putting the same amount away in savings that you spend on scrapbook/stamp stuff. This gives you extra $$ for either more scrap/stamp spending or something fun
3. Set a "Scrap to Spend" page goal. Come up with a goal to complete before you spend more $$ (for instance, "complete 25 pages before spending"
4. Do a combination or all of them!
Many times scrapping and stamping supply purchases are "impulse" buys. We want to encourage not only LOTS of Pages completed but creative, productive use of our STASH. Let's see if together we can be "CREATORS" and not just "COLLECTORS". (Thanks MP )
You do NOT have to set a budget to play along with Scrappin' Goal Challenge. This is only for those of us who would like to play
I will post our Scrap Budgets here...let's see if we can band together and encourage everybody to keep on goal

Looking for a little momentum or challenge to get a page or two done? Always some GREAT challenges here on SCS! What a FUN Place to Play! To Make it EASY to Find them, I have posted Links to the Challenges HERE! Scrap On!
Ok Scrap Sisters! We're 4 months into 2009 scrappin' and it's time to get our Scrap Tables/Desks/Bins/Spaces refreshed for Summer time Scrappin'! Since scrap moments seem to be shorter in the summer, I thought it would be a good time to PLAY "SHARE the SCRAPS" again! We did this last year and had a GREAT Time! Here's how it works:
All of us have fun scraps left from scrap pages that since we just scrapped a page with it, we won't use again. We also have all bought those packs of paper that we like some of the paper but not all of the paper in and so those are sitting around. The challenge is to take those scraps or papers, pack an envelope add a small amount of postage and send them to me (it's like a swap). At the end of the month, everyone who sent in an envelope will get an envelope back with all "new" scraps to play with. Last year, many gals used their diecut machines (sizzix, bigshot, cuttlebug, cricut, nesties) and their punches and cut or embossed cardstock scraps. All other "designer paper" can just be sent in "scrap" form if you want. Diecuts or punches can be any size but please don't send scraps smaller than 2x2 if it's just a scrap. Everyone will get a mix of diecuts and scraps back depending on what is received. Many gals took the 12x12 sheets they weren't going to use and cut it into 4x4 or
4x6 squares. We also got lots of scraps of cute prints.
It's time for our SCRAP SWAP! If you'd like to play, fill any size envelope with scraps (no boxes please). Whatever size envelope you send is the size you'll get in return. Add your scraps, PM me for my address. For return postage you can either drop some postage stamps in with the scraps & I'll use to return or a couple dollars to cover the postage. If you send $$, whatever I don't use will be included in your return envie. You have until June 8 to get me your envelope. I will swap and return all envelopes the week of June 8. In June, we'll have some challenges to show off what we used our "new" scraps on!
Come and Play!

I was very much thinking the SAME thing...where did Feb/Mar & Apr go?
Not sure... I do know that my ds starts his first day of summer vacation tomorrow and he's not thrilled to know that he will have to report to his friends that his very first day will be the most boring first day of all....we will be spending the day waiting to see how his grandfather's surgery goes at the hospital.. I'm working on his selfishness....

Wow! June already. I have definitely made so much more progress this year than last! And you know what I think it is? Trying to keep up with the SB challenges that we have each week!;) I completed 10 pages in May putting my total at 37 for the year. So, I'm averaging 7.5 pages a month.
I'm gonna set my June goal for 8 pages and hope that I surpass that just like this month.
Happy Scrappin' in June.
I'm in for June too. Let's try for a goal of 13 pages.

Ok - I did complete my May goal of 6 (I just haven't posted them yet). Sign me up for June! I am going to Disney the first week or so (for the first time). Soooo - I would like to complete at least 12 pages for June. I can't promise on stash, since SU! stuff is retiring, but I will try my hardest to use it.

I agree: this year is FLYING past! June?!
Well, I surpassed my May goal by one. June promises to be a whole new kind of insane, so I'm going to go with 8 pages. If I do better than that, great! If not, no pressure. haha.
My stats are now: 13 for May, 31 for the whole year (28 of which are since finding this group)!

2024 Scrapping Goals: May: 13/20; April:11; 2024: 59/125
I'm behind on my YTD pages so I need 20 for June to be caught up. The first half of the month is crazy but hoping the second half is productive :-) Not sure what I want to do budget-wise: I'm starting to need paper but CHA will be here in July and I'd like to go if possible. I guess I have to keep the budget to stash for June.
I hope you all had a beautiful weekend. Please visit the VSBN Master Thread. Here you can read and participate in the challenges. I've also made sure all the Galleries are linked so be sure to visit them frequently this week to leave love for all the participants.
I didn't even come close to my May goal. Mojo was sapped all month until VSBN. I will be away all of July so I will try for 20 this month. I plan to do a 7x7 baby album for a friend so this month will focus on that.

Hello everyone, and welcome to June. I think I will set my goal for 14 for the month of June. I'm very busy this month, but I do have a new project in mind...organizing a bunch of school stuff. I purchased a CM Denim album for this purpose about 5 years ago...finally cracked it out of the plastic! I figure that not much will get done in the summer months while school's out...so I'll go for the push in June!

Budget - $0 - Scraps only.
I am super excited that I sold some Pampered Chef items, so I am spending the profit (It is in my cash and carry, so I have paid for it already so this is pure profit!!!!)
I see that at Hobby Lobby they are having a 50% off sale on most scrapbooking stuff!!!!
I was looking, but no luck, so I was wondering if anyone knew if Hobby Lobby or Michael's carries a curvy cutter like the one that Creative Memories carries?

April - Lela has the upcoming VSBNights listed in post #8 of this thread. The threads for each usually appear in the Virtual Scrapbooking Night forum (Forums/Splitcoast Challenges/Virtual Scrapbook Night). I'm not good at linking, but if you follow from the forums link across the top of this page and then find the challenges you will see the sub forum.
Typically the host will post in the goals thread when we have info. The last one came up quickly. You will find old challenges posted in that subforum to.

Hi all! Just checking in with my June goal...will stick with 10. Just barely made my May goal. Finished the 10th one about 10 PM last night! Then I wanted to complete the dps, so finished the 1st one for this month about 1 AM this morning! For the year, I am on target.
I was looking, but no luck, so I was wondering if anyone knew if Hobby Lobby or Michael's carries a curvy cutter like the one that Creative Memories carries?
Thanks so much
I've only seen the curvy ones at CM, not other places? It would be GREAT to get it 50% off if they have them!

Aubrey...both Archivers and CM are having "deals" on solid cardstock right now. Archivers is buy 10 get 10 free and CM if you spend $100 you get a $25 pack of CS Free! Jenn also mentioned that HL is having big 50% sale so it appears it's a really good time to stock up on solid :-D
