You are allowed to bring things to Sell or Trade at the mini mingle!
Please observe the rules on the BST forum, and follow them at our gathering. Also, please don't load the back of your truck with stuff! Bring a box, and if we run out of table room we can just line up the boxes and it will be like a treasure hunt!
If things are free-please plan on them being clearly marked so. Assume that it is a BST item until you confirm with the owner of the item.
We will be working on the honor system of course--Yay for a trading table!
If you are interested in staying overnight:
there are two options for hotels within a couple of miles of our location:
They are within 1 mile of each other, with the Baymont being just a bit closer to the mingle. . .so it is a wash. I would just look at price and the ammenities and make a decision that way.

So... I'm still confused on how this works exactly. I've never swapped "in person" at an event like this. It is still organized ahead of time right? Like someone goes over to the swap board and starts a swap and we join?
Or.... so we just make some random # of cards with some random theme and embellishments and just trade with other people?
And 3-D items are... altered comp books, beaded pens ?
If you would like to participate bring a handmade/hand stamped item and you will be given a raffle ticket to pick one of the other handmade/hand stamped items when your ticket is called.

Again... sorry... just want to make sure I'm not the one bringing the altered toilet paper roll... but give me some examples of what this might be?
Hi Amy. The unorganized card swap works like how it is done at SU! convention. Say you make 25 of the same card. Then you get there and you just walk around and find 25 people who have cards to swap and you swap cards.
Some people may have pins, post it note holders, etc. so if you are interested in those you can make a few 3D items to swap.
OR I could organize a swap. I can use the 2nd post in this thread to list who will participate and then at the event we will all get together and swap our items.
How the board works is you would bring an extra for the board to display and then everyone can see all of them in one place, get pictures, etc and then at the end they will be donated to the Ronald McD house.
For the Handmade Door Prize I am thinking along the lines of an altered journal, an altered tin, a stamped candle in a cute package, a little ensamble of a post it note holder, beaded pen, binder clip thing... Check the gallery under the anything other than a card catagory and there are lots of ideas there.
Gotcha! I can see how the unorganized swap works. If you make too many... then you just take them back home. And save them for March at the big mingle... Sounds fun! I know most of you are SU people. I don't have any SU stamps... I hope that is ok. I mean I know it is... but I hope you guys really don't mind.
I just mapped it... I'm only an hour away from Dewitt. That is completely doable!

Yep! Totally fine. I use other products and I know a lot of us do too. Even if someone doesn't they can still find inspiration in your card and CASE it using SU! stamps and supplies.
We want everyone to feel welcome at the mingles that is why there are no vendor restrictions on the swaps, etc.
I added some organized swaps to post #2. Let me know if you are interested.
Subscribing to watch the numbers...I'm not sure yet if I can make it as I have Hearts at Home one weekend in Grand Rapids and I believe it is in October as well...could be difficult to get away for a weekend and then another Saturday that month, but I'll see!
Hi Leah, I'm in Hartland! Which one is El Azteco? I LUV mexican food.
There's one at Saginaw and MLK Blvd in Lansing, and another on Ann St., across Gr River from MSU in East Lansing. Love their Topopo salad - cold salad (lettuce, chicken, peas, oil & vinegar) on top of cheese, bean, and guacamole covered chips. Too much for one person! Good margaritas too, but I'll have to drive :( .
We'll be north of the Lansing location when we're in De Witt. It's just a matter of how far anyone wants to drive. I immediately fixate on El Azteco whenever I'm in the Lansing area.
hi friends, I would love to go but can't tell yet as it is way to early for me to plan............I have never driven that far either
sounds like a blast and a chance to meet everyone though

I'll be mailing my registration over the weekend. I live so close to DeWitt, that I can't miss this one!!
Robin - Let me know if you need any help. I have Thur-Sun off that same weekend. Just an accident it happened that way, but I'd be available to help you out if you need it.

Oooohhhh. I thought you were talking about something in Brighton. I think my mom has talked about that one in Lansing... the restaurant is really dark and it is authentic mexican rather than Don Pablos style?
