Combining the two challenges today. I stamped the houndstooth pattern on the die cut butterfly using DOX Black Soot spritzed with a little water, because I thought it would give me better coverage than just inking with Memento. It worked. Then I simply inlaid it on my card and added a turquoise flower embellishment that I got on clearance from Hobby Lobby as my POP. Quick and easy!
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Distress Oxide Black Soot
Accessories: Sizzix Butterfly die, WeR Precision Press, black gel pen, Spellbinders Card Creator B die, Recollections rhinestones, The Paper Studio flower embellishment

Very effective - it looks as if you had cut the butterfly from a scrap of fabric. And the extra softness from the water adds to that illusion. I actually thought you'd stamped with white on black till I read your write-up.
