  1. In’spiring designs

    By Michelle Giraud

The In'spire Collection from Spellbinders has lots of fun die cut designs that work great as the focal point of a project. Lots of my die cuts end up as layers or accent pieces, but the In'spire designs are real images, and some pretty cool ones at that.

I got to play with "In Flight", a stylized bird with lots of cutouts and embossed feathers which is beautifully whimsical. I used it for a Mother's Day card, but it would work great for almost any occasion. The "Anchors Away" die features a delicately cut chain wrapped around an anchor. This is one of my favorites because of the cool nautical feel. I had a little trouble trying to figure out what to make with the "Our House" die because it's a cut out sillhouette. Plus my first few cuts didn't work out because my paper was too thick. Once I switched to a thinner paper I was able to get it to cut the intricate shingles on this design and created a cute little house for a congratulations card. The "Destination" signpost is an interesting element because it gives you a place to add a sentiment to a card.

I really enjoyed creating with this line of dies. The intricate details on all of the Spellbinder products really set them apart, and the interesting, fresh-looking designs make them perfect for many projects and occasions.

  2. Inspired Designs

Spellbinders is a well-known and respected name in the papercrafting community, and their reputation is deserved. It is always a pleasure to work with their products and this review was no different for me.

I hadn't seen Spellbinders "In'spire" Collection yet, so getting to play with the fun shaped dies was a treat. I was given the opportunity to try 4 different shape packets: On the Road (a camper), Bird Call (birds on a power pole), Flower Power 1 (flower shapes on stems), and Silhouette (a cameo styled silhouette and oval wreath).

I found that the shapes not only cut clean, just like the Spellbinder dies you already own, but these shapes have special details. For instance, the camper's door and windows hinge open for more dimension on your projects! The silhouette lady's butterfly pin has the wings flip up. It made me squeal happily while making my projects. I used my embossing mat to get extra impression detail on the camper and flowers too.

The details matter in our craft, and thanks to Spellbinders our projects can shine!

  3. Inspire Me…

    By Teresa Kline

The Spellbinders In'spire dies are like the other well-known Spellbinders dies: well-made and cut excellently. I can always reach for Spellbinders and know I will get a precise cut. The new In'spire dies are no different. They come in lots of shapes; some are great for everyday card making, while others are perfect for a special occasion. If you need a unique shape, In'spire dies have lots of not-so-ordinary shapes. They are sized perfectly for card making, but will work well for tags and scrapbooking needs as well.

I created a card using the birdcage die, die cutting two different designs of papers so it would pop a little more for a bolder effect. I then tried a technique using the feathers and had a blast! I added crackled embossing paste colored with color mist, and then spread it to give a 3D look. Very sweeeet!

Spellbinders is a reputable company and consistently brings a product worth purchasing. You'll enjoy adding In'spire dies to your ever-growing die collection. Happy die cutting!
