I recently purchased a two bedroom condo and space is at a minimum. I decided to convert the closet in the spare room into my stamping corner and I'm so glad I decided to go ahead and do this! I started by removing the closet doors so that I could have access to the complete 5' space. I had the drawer unit (lower left) and the beech bookcase (lower right) already and just went from there. I went to the hardware store and have them cut a 24" piece of melamine to 5', that forms the desk surface. I got 3 12" pieces as well, had one cut to 4', the other 2 to 5' and then with the leftovers got 2 18" pieces. I picked up four of the vertical bracket holders and the brackets for the shelves. Finally I also got an open storage unit (found in the closet aisle and usually used for shoes) and put that on the left side of the desk. I'm still bringing things in from the old area I had, but I'm really pleased with how this turned out. I have lots of room for all of my supplies and will be able to keep them neat and organized (I hope). Total time, including removing closet doors was about 3 hours since everything was already cut for me. I could have speeded things up by using a drill, but I did things the hard way and used a good old screwdriver. Cost of all materials (without bottom storage units that I already had) was just over $70.
