Barbara is our hostess this week and she has chosen Emerald Envy, Gold, Whisper White and for dessert: St. Patrick's Day
I used a technique called smooshing with reinkers and inka gold, another technique that I learned from Loll Thompson! You can see a video of the process . Loll keeps me busy with trying all her techniques - thanks, Loll! I also did smooshing with alcohol inks with a card on Saturday - if interested, it's here. This also works for our CAS challenge: luck of the Irish!
First I created my bg (with the the reinker and the inka gold smooshing technique) - mine got a bit darker than I was hoping for but I hope you can see the gold - it shimmers a bit in IRL! Then, since I did not have any shamrock dies, I used heart dies to create shamrock openings in my top panel. I die cut each shamrock by placing a heart die in 3 overlapping positions and then fussy cutting the stem. I was pleasantly surprised with how well it worked!
Stamped the sentiment, scored a border (hard to see in the photo) and drew another border line with a gold metallic pen, attached this panel to my smooshed panel and the card front and added sequins.

Wow, Maura, I never would've guessed you didn't have shamrock dies. Very clever use of those heart dies! This is a gorgeous card, and I can imagine it must shimmer really nicely IRL. Love!

Wonderful design, Maura and your hand-crafted shamrocks look extraordinary. Thanks so much for sharing Loll's wonderful tutorial. Wondering if I can use my Copic refill ink for this technique.
