Emily has crafted since she was 5 and is now designing on her own. She did acetate smooshing for her background and stamped Grumpy with Versafine and used clear embossing powder. She added just a bit of color with Zig brush markers. She chose the sentiment which seems to fit Grumpy quite well. She asked about embellishing. I threw out some suggestions. She opted to stitch, went through my home made stitching templates and chose the flourish, then made up her own stitches in the corner. I did case her card but hers is much better than mine. Thanks for stopping by.

WOW, Emily! This is fantastic. Beautiful background, super embossing and great choice of sentiment. The stitching is the frosting on the cake. I actually thought Nancy did this. You're a natural, Emily!

Wonderful card, Emily! Love your background and your sweet little bird. I've been making cards for 9 years and still couldn't make anything nearly as sweet and colorful as this card. Job well done, Emily. Come back and show us more of your beautiful cards.

Oh, Nancy, Emily is amazingly talented, and what a blessing you are to mentor her and encourage her creativity! Wow, I agree. I can hardly wait until Emily starts posting herself. She's a joy, and it must thrill you to see her blossom so. I love this card, and her stitching is amazing! If I had not read your description, I would have thought it was one of your cards. Hugs!

This is fantastic for grown ups, but when I read that 13 year old Emily made it, I was super impressed. Terrific choices for the sentiment, bg, and penguin image.
