My brothers and I spent half of our lives at the beach, we spent so much time under the water that dad often said we would turn into fish!! The boys would search for sunken treasure, while I searched for mermaids....ahhh that's a story for another day, but it did involve a pillow case and one flipper LOL.
About my card - sometimes I put too much ink, paint, spray and or water on my craft mat (ok it's really just a piece of aluminium foil), so I just get another piece of cardstock and place it on top of the excess - now I have two coloured sheets for my stash.
Sometimes the excess is actually on the initial sheet of cardstock. Instead of wiping or dabbing off the excess, lay another sheet of cardstock over the drowned piece, firmly wipe your hand all over the card. I think this is called the "kissing technique". This card was made using this method.
To create the illusion of light coming from the surface, I sprayed on some water at the top and tilted the card so it would dribble down the card. I also blotted some of the colour off.
If you are thinking that the stamping and micron pen border, doohickies and bubbles all look a bit faded, you are right. I broke the golden rule of "drying time". The card felt kinda dry but I really should have waited another hour or hit it with the heatgun. As the card continued to dry, the ink from the pen and stamp were absorbed into the background. Drying time is essential for silhouette stamping, but for a card like this, it isn't a big deal - I quite like the muted effect.
Thank you for looking.

Susie, I don't know if I can add to all the accolades you've already received on this card. This is what I will say: Clever, creative, inventive! The same wonderful imaginative personality that looked for mermaids as a child continues to inspire us today. Birds can become fish, mermaids and sunken treasure are within reach -- all you have to do is imagine!

Another fantastic card! I think Tim Holtz would be very proud of what you can do with his products. You inspired me to buy his products when I first came across your brilliance on Pinterest. He should give you a kickback! Did you see he's coming out with crazy dogs? I see a bird dog in your future! Keep them coming! LOVE so much what you do!
