This weeks Clean & Simple Challenge, CAS376 - For A Special Lady - 5/9/16, was to make a card for moms or special ladies in our lives.
I wanted to make a thank you for a friend who made me a delicious key lime pie for my birthday - I think that qualifies her as a very special lady, don't you?!
I opted to make a tag, rather than a card so it could be attached to the top of the Tupperware container when I returned it to her.
This was a fun project to make and gave me a good excuse to use the new tag die from Mama Elephant and pair it with the new thank you die by Sizzix that I bought with birthday money.
I wanted this to be fun and perky, to suit my friend's sunny personality, so I pulled a sheet from Lawn Fawn's new 6x6 paper pack called Perfectly Plaid. I was nervous about how the plaid would look used for the intricate word die cut. With the exception of it being slightly off level, I thought it turned out well.
To finish it, I brushed the plaid die cut pieces with Spectrum Noir clear sparkle glitter pen and added 3 tiny rhinestones for a bit of girly bling.
You can't see it, but I added a Canteloupe colored tag to the back before tying the twine through the holes. This gave me the perfect place to add my thank you note.
Thanks for popping by to look at my tag for the CAS Special Lady challenge!

This is just sweet! Love the way you used DP to cut the sentiment and heart, and matched the twines so perfectly. Sounds as if you had some fun birthday treats to enjoy both in the moment and for a long time to come - the sentiment die is fab!

This is so sweet. What a great way to say thank you for a key lime pie! Wish I had someone who'd make me a key lime pie for my birthday. I think she'll love seeing this affixed to the Tupperware container.
