Today started out great but that didn't last long.
For the 2nd time in 7 years, I decided to join the CC today. In looking through the gallery, I saw a number of creative ways stampers brought the challenge colors to their creations.
I'm not an SU kinda girl, so I substituted today's colors with distress inks. I used girlgeek's floral melon branch so I'm covered with the colors. Thank you, Ms. Audrie for that and this gorgeous Asian image.
From there, everything went downhill quickly. I purchased this 'photo' box thing and spent much of the day trying to figure out how to take photos. In the process, I busted my husband's tripod (even though this 'thing' came with its own inferior tripod). Then I had no idea how to position the day side lights. On and one I could go but I'll spare everyone the sordid details.
Oops, just realized I did use an SU image. Ellen Taylor sent me this Confucius set a few years ago. Maybe I am an SU girl after all.

Anne, I love the background you've created for this pretty image.

Oh, Anne, this is lovely! I know how frustrating that is to spend so much time and not having it be successful! But on the positive side your card is gorgeous - I love the image against that pretty bg and I love the stitched frame too. Faved!

Wow sounds like your day was a bit frustrating- but you did create a lovely card- I hope you realize that you don't have to use SU color's for our challenge- we use those color names because they are familiar to everyone - we encourage stampers to use what you have in your stash that's close

hopefully the tripod is fixable. this is gorgeous. ( and although I do have some SU colors I don't have them all so, I do what ever looks close enough squinting at the screen when I have time to play.)
Love the background!!

A very pretty background and pierced frame for your Asian girl. Sorry you had such a hard time, but mama said there'd be days like this. And Confucius say "If at first you don't succeed, try, try, and try again." Well, maybe it was Mama who said that too. :-)
Thanks for your comments in my gallery.

I am so sorry to hear that you had a "Francie creative experience" and hopefully you did not sustain any permanent damage, but your result is gorgeous. Wow is that an awesome watercolored bg, and your Asian woman is colored beautifully. Into my favs.

What a lovely background you have created for your Asian themed card - makes her beauty, and that of the flowers just POP! The framing with your image "outside the box" is very effective to this very inspiring card!
