Since I was cutting out Papertrey ice skates, I decided to recreate my wonderful memoires of skating.
When I was about 12, I discovered a mile long and .5 mile wide frozen over pond. Once I mastered the basic skills of skating, I skated on Thurs and Friday evenings after school and all day Saturday and Sunday until I was 17 and decided it was time to get a job.
As a child, I lived to skate. I would skate in groups, alone or with boys who would ask to skate with me to skate with them.

I too have good skating memories! My dad made a rink in our backyard and I learned by pushing a chair around on it. Then we used to walk down to the lake where there was a manmade outdoor rink. All the kids on the street used to go. Your card is lovely in every way Anne! ...the beautiful ribbon, the framing, the pompoms and the stories it has evoked. Thank you!

Right away, I felt nostalgia when I saw this design with the skate as the focal point. Then, I read your story about how much you loved to skate as a young lady. It doesn't get better than this. It's so lovely, Anne!
