Cathy's WT Challenge was to do a watercolor background. Background, foreground.....did it all on the image panel with watercolors, the old-fashioned way with paints and a brush(no technique). : )
Many of my "bird" cards go to friends who are intense world-wide birders. They appreciate accuracy and I try to deliver. The bird on this SU image had a "bandit-like" mask around its eye and I used that as a distinctive mark and went to my Peterson guide to try to match it to a real bird species. Came up with a Myrtle warbler and colored it accordingly. Warblers are migrating now on the Mississippi flyway so one could be passing through. ; ) Love the quote from Thoreau.

Your warbler looks very like our bluetits!! They have that "bandit" stripe too, and that's exactly how I think of it. I knew that whatever you did, this challenge would be just up your street. Or, in this case - not quite the street but the great outdoors.

Breathtaking beauty in this watercolor scene. The warbler is exquisitely done; I can see the downy softness of its breast, and the quote is just perfect!

Lovely card, Sallie. I especially appreciate the serene scene you've capably captured with your light WCing. The earth tone colors adds to the dimension.
