For colour challenge CC247 Very Black Suede - with sparkle or glitz for dessert!
Also for Mother Mark's Tea Party Challenge MMTPT70 hosted this week by MrsBoz where we're helping Santa by telling him our worst present ever, or our best present ever.
The best present I ever got was my very own sewing machine the Christmas I was 17! It was magnificent - all kinds of fancy stitches and a buttonholer - WOW! I was over the top happy!
So for today's challenge, I stamped and embossed the dove in gold and then matted with Spellbinders labels die. Added a strip of black cardstock and then folded and SEWED some gold and silver ribbon on - this would be my sparkle for CC247!
Mounted everything on a soft suede card base that was run through the cb snowflakes folder. Then topped it all off with a large silver, smaller gold, and tiny silver snowflakes, separated with dimensionals. And finally, 3 small gold half pearls.
Because my wish is for peace - in the world, in our families and friends, and in our own lives! An early and blessed Christmas to all!!

This is just gorgeous! The gold and silver touches are perfect and make it so elegant. And I love, love, love your snowflake. Thanks for sharing such a sweet memory. This is all just perfect for the party today!

Very pretty. Love the snowflake and the lovely dove and I think that Peace would be a great gift, but sewing machines are fun.

What a beautiful card, Laurie! That Christmas must have been fabulous......how exciting to get your own sewing machine!!! Too bad you didn't sew on your card. Oh well, next time, I guess!! I love the dove and those gold beads!!

You are so sweet, laurie! How interesting: I received my very first sewing machine for Christmas too and at age 17. Mine was a singer touch n sew? Oh yeah, life was so good when I got this and a sewng stool! Love your memories. Sounds like you've been sewing for ages, too. I actually prefer to sew than make cards, laurie. Love your card with that stitched ribbon, dove and cb folder. Together, everything makes for a spectacular card.

Wow, gorgeous and oh so elegant card....and I about fell out when I read your story., that is almost word for word mine...how wild is that?...well, except for a major time span and the total lack of fancy stitches on the machines in those days....LOL!!!
