I was SO PSYCHED to see Kelly had picked this combo this morning - you see, I had been fascinated with it since I moved to the South and enjoyed Blue Bell's ice cream - the colors in the cover really inspired me. I included the lid of one of their kiddie cups to show you what it looked like.
So this color combo already had me thinking of ice cream and then Gina K.'s new set clinched the idea for the card. I didn't finish in time for Gina's GKJUNTM challenge, but I liked the sketch so much I was hoping to be included in the gallery anyway.
The image is from Gina K.'s new set "100% Sweet". I tried sponging the saffron & kraft panels, but am I NOT a good sponger and it didn't look pretty, so I opted for running them through different Cuttlebug embossing folders for some added texture instead. The brads were from the "in bloom" brad pack from Making Memories, looks pretty close to So Saffron, don't you think?
The center image was stamped on Gina K's luxury cardstock and colored with Copic Markers. I added some Lemon Atyou Copic glitter pen to the ice cream as well, but I don't think it shows up in the photo. It is popped up with Pop Its.
I have waited to add a sentiment until I know what occasion the card will be used for.
Thank you to everyone who takes the time to look at my card and leave a comment. Thank you Kelly for the AWESOME color combo today, and thanks Gina for the cool layout - I know I will be coming back to these colors and this layout time and time again in the future.

Meredith, this is outstanding!! I love how you used the challenge colors (it really does look like the Blue Bell ice cream packaging!!), and your use of the embossed textures is terrific (love how you echoed the ice cream swirls in the background texture). Great coloring on the ice cream & cone. And what a versatile layout!! I really love how this turned out. Super, duper card

So awesome!! I've grown up with Bluebell, so I guess I never stopped to appreciate the color combo! LOVE the texture--looks just like a sugar cone and swirly ice cream! Wonderful coloring on the stamp, too. Now you have me wanting ice cream for lunch!
