This is my card for today's inspiration challenge. We were to be inspired by book covers at the Book Cover Archive website. How fun! This is the book cover I was inspired by.
This is my story!
1. I was running out of time to get a card made for my nephew who is graduating from High School next weekend. He has always done very well with competitive swimming so I wanted to congratulate him both on his achievements there and his graduation. When I saw This book cover I thought, hey that could be the lanes in a swimming pool!
2. I was a little nervous cuz I thought when I showed this card to the photographer, he would not know what it was! He immediately said, its a swimming pool and that's the platform! Holy cow, now I know what its like to be a success! Snort!
3. I can't believe I found the perfect letters to make sentences out of. Most of what I have used in the past never has enough of the same letter. I used these foam letters by American Crafts called Thickers. They give you a ton of each letter. Look how many S's I used here and I still have some left! Yah!!! They rock!
4. There is acetate over this entire card and in real life it looks more like the shimmer of water but of course you can't see that on line! Fiddle-sticks! You know what the black corners are doing, don't ya? Hiding the dimensional keeping the acetate on! Snort!
5. I will probably have to explain the whole concept of this card to my family! Hee! Congrats Justin...can't believe you are all grown up!
