Sweet Ms. Robin challenged us to consider the earth for our cards ... today is a special day for those of us that cherish the trees for shade, landscape, protection and beauty.
So how I did end up with a sympathy card? Good question. Let me see if I can explain my juxtaposed thoughts: When I think of the earth, I immediately think of God for his glorious creations. God also patterned us to follow the circle of creation: life and death .. so from the earth we garner the soil to bury our loved ones for their journey home, and so it begins again.
For sweet Ms. Anna's challenge, we were to use wind, water or fire in celebration of earth day as well. For that, I used mixed media paper to create a fire-like bg. I also used gold gmund as a layer to project the gold/yellow we see in flames or fires.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone. TFL

Stunning and elegant card. That background is so very pretty and the sentiment lovely. Against the black it does look like fire! Awesome take on the challenge, very deep thinking, Miss Anne! I do enjoy your telling of them though.

Oh, Anne, what a gorgeous card, and I love that it fits so perfectly with both challenges. I love this Scripture verse, and what you've shared is so very true! We are here on earth for truly a short time when we think of the millennia since God created the earth, but we can make a difference one person at a time. And you've made a difference and blessed us with your love for us here on SCS and for your love for the Lord. Hugs, precious friend! xoxo

Such a beautiful refreshing card - you got the perfect verse for comfort, stamped on such a gorgeously colorful - and earthy looking - panel and it is breath taking on the black and gold - Great take on the challenge, Anne!
