Mary is our hostess this week and she set up a fun Bingo Game for us to choose from. I have chosen the first vertical row: Strawberry Slush, Pear Pizazz, Mossy Meadow, Smoky Slate and a desert is anything goes, so I am choosing to use a stencil. I subbed for the Mossy Meadow and the Strawberry Slush (Ripe Avocado and Worn Lipstick).
I am using a technique that was on last week's "Make it Monday" on the PTI blog, which is to sponge and blend inks over a portion of your panel, lay a stencil down and then sponge again with the same colors or with slightly different shades (I used the same colors). I also added a bit more sponging after I stenciled to get a bit more depth of color at the bottom of my panel. Stamped the branches and sentiment (a NBUS set from Penny Black - I saw Karen use it so many times - I just had to have it!), die cut and stamped the bird and blossoms, matted, assembled, and added gems.
Come and join in the challenge - you may be our next favorite!!

We may have used the same colours, Maura, but you have used them so amazingly well, such a lovely softness to this. The sponging, using this technique, looks fabulous with the stencilling and I just love the beautiful bird and sentiment!

Whoa, Maura, this is really artistically crafted for certain. Love that ombre effect. You did it so well. Blending colors is not easy, so I'm rightfully impressed by your skills. Great card.
