Hi! This card was made for today's Color Combination Challenge: Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay and Melon Mambo.
Last year, in October, we had the most fortunate luck of seeing a sunset much like this. We were camping at Stephen Foster State Park, and the campground was awash with color from this marvelous sight.
The tree and birds were stamped in Basic Black and embossed in clear. This was done to prevent the colors from SMEARING. Next, I punched a 1 1/4" hole in scrap and used the hole as a reverse mask to sponge in the Crushed Curry. Next, I sponged in the Melon Mambo highlight. I did NOT clear emboss this, as I WANTED the colors to carry out into the background. I used a sponge to make this blend. I stamped a squiggle from a mini set in Crushed Curry in the lighter areas and then in Bermuda Bay along the top. This added "flow."

I would have thought Speedy would try to eat those birds! This is so pretty, I have to learn to make art like this. I am signed up for a Michelle Zindorf class, but it isn't till November and that feels awfully far away when you are teasing me with brayered art like this.
