If you click on the link below, you will see a very PRETTY...well, ok...Somewhat pretty crocodile design. I thought, WOW, I have a CB folder that would work and I could use that as my background and draw some sort of crocodile to go with it. It would be CUTE! I mean, how hard could it be???
Well...Needless to say (as you can see for yourself!) that the more I swiped the Colorbox black ink around my CB crocodile scales, the more UGLIER it got!!!!! I kept thinking.....EEWWWWW!!! This isn't like the picture in the link!!! How am I gonna salvage this?
THEN, I remembered that I had a stamp from River City Rubberworks that I had never inked up and thought that it would be appropriate with this UGLY bg!!!! So, I dug it out and inked it up! It says: Be what you is. If you old and ugly, then Be old and ugly, But Be What You Is!
My hubby agreed when I showed him the card. He said, and I quote "That sure is one UGLY card!" (He may just get this one for his b-day! Hehehe).
Well, there you have it! This card may never see the inside of a sent envelope, but this was my inspiration and it does exist! Hehe! Now, I'll get some caffeine in me and see if I can do a little better on my next try for the Inspiration Challenge!

The inspiration piece is beautiful, but a good laugh is even better!!! I bet your dh will love it if you give it to him! ;)

Howdy Nabe!!
This card is just being what it is! LOL I wouldn't call it ugly, but it is really funny with that hilarious sentiment on it! Next time, just flip the panel over and use the negative side. I do that quite often in cases similar to yours! LOL

Lesley, are you goofy or what over there? I had to read your sentiment not once, but twice, to see if what I read the first time was correct. Sure nuff, it was. This sentiment is just the greatest thing....I need it for some of my ...er, ugly friends! Your story is just a hoot, too. This is the best ever card, so just put it in an envelope and send it my way. Dont forget to include the story: Both are priceless. I'll be able to remember back in the day before you became rich and reknown for your cards.

I love the sentiment! What a fun story too -- some days are like that, aren't they? I think this is a creative way to use what you were working on and I love it!

I love your story! Just so hilarious darling Marley, made me giggle so much I was trying to tell dh about it and I couldn't stop. I had seen it this morning while talking with Pat and left before commenting and now it's even funnier.
I have to say it has it's own style now. TFS the laugh!

It is the perfect sentiment, lol! And it does look just like the inspiration. I'm thinking this would be a great bg for another image; something rugged and outdoorsy.
