I created the sanded panel for an Inspiration Challenge well over a year ago but it wasnÂ’t to my liking so into the scrap box. One of the flowers in my pick reminded me of it, so it ends up as an IC card after all.
I was inspired by this web page: http://2008.geekinthepark.co.uk/
which reminded me of the Cuttlebug folder. I played off flourishes, color and just made a change from butterflies to birds and pulled the black into my flower instead of white and lavender which just wouldnÂ’t go.
Thanks for the challenge Stef but I think that was mean to give us so many choices to choose fromÂ…my mind was whirling for a while! Check out the IC138 here.
-Rose background is white 80% glossy cardstock colored with a brayer.
-Faux linen was then done on the brayed piece, stamped it with the background and did more sanding and this was the end result.
-The negative technique was used for the Cuttlebug embossing then the images were colored with Prismacolor pencils and baby oil.
-The grunged flower was also colored with the pencils, then heat embossed twice with clear powder. I used a VersaMark pen, heat and stick mixed with glitter to add some sparkle to the flower centerÂ’s edge and also did this on the yellow berries of the embossed panel.
-The corner feature is from the Iron Eagle punch from EK Success.
-Tonic Paper perforator was used for the tool distressing.
Flower and sentiment from: Cornish Heritage Farms.
Background - Stampin Up
Embossing - Cuttlebug

Roxi, as always you have managed to pull of one gorgeous piece of art! I'm loving the colors you brought in and the coloring on the cb folder is just wonderful! Love the big blossom too! Awesome in every way! I agree... too many choices is what took me forever to figure out where to go with mine too!
