Hope you are enjoying your spotlight day, Denise! I like your style, it is varied and I had a difficult time settling on one card to case. In the end, I chose this layout Blooming BD Cake by denidill at Splitcoaststampers I did flip it and changed stamps, no ribbon. I have two more sketches from your gallery for future projects. Thanks for the inspiration, FS71!
I don't know if it's just the South, but the father's in our family have always been DADDY...Big Daddy, Granddaddy, and MY DADDY. Though I'm managed to stumble into a half century, he's still Daddy to me! And knows I'm always late for every occasion! I will slip this into the mail tomorrow...I just know he'll appreciate all the things about the sea that he loves...
I used Paper House globe paper as the base for my card. I adore the old, vintage feel of the paper. I stamped a schooner onto Renior print DP and embossed in clear. The ship is inked with peacock gold and black from ColorBox. I mounted it on a rectangle that was cut with the nestability/cuttlebug. My lighthouse (Cape Lookout) by Impression Obsession is a well loved memory. I stamped it on Basic Grey Mellow lenient with VersaMark black tore and distressed the edges. It is on a bg of cheesecloth inked in TH di scattered straw on SU bayou blue. I used pewter eyelets at the corners. The news flash is printed on SU river rock paper hand written sentiment with a puff pen. I finished off with a bit of ribbon stapled to the pull out tag. I also stapled my ship to the mat with blue staples...sometimes that little bit of metal adds just the right touch!
As a sidenote about lighthouses, the Cape Lookout is the only one in the US with checks. This is a directional tool. The black diamonds point N/S and the white one E/W. Thanks for looking, I'd love to know what you think!

Such a wonderful tribute to your dad, Susan. For someone who loves water, despite its late arrival, he will delight in the beauty of your crafted work of art. Love your map, lighthouse and embellishments! terrific testimony to a very special person in your life - your Father!

Susan, your Daddy will be so happy to open this envelope and find this special card from you. The total look is nautical and nostalgic and sure to touch him. I laughed when I read the part about mailing it today. My Daddy's card will be right behind yours! Thanks for sharing such a beauty with us today.

I love your Father's day card Susan and I empathise with your lateness as I was still making cards for my husband from the boys at 2am Sunday morning LOL! I know your Daddy will love his card whenever it arrives. I also love your titles for Daddy, Big Daddy etc., so lovely. Great card, full of interest and detail.
