What a fantastic and interesting challenge this week for our tickle! Mrs. Delaney was a fascinating artist and to think she didn't start her art until age 72! I decided to add a butterfly to my collage garden. I paper pieced her dress and her wings...the wings are a piece of Joss paper that I got years ago in San Francisco. The flowers are ones I drew, watercolored, and then outlined in black pen. I cut two versions of the stems in different green colors and layered them as Mary did in her projects. Thank you Susan for introducing us to Mary Delaney's beautiful art.

This big yellow flower looks like it was plucked straight off your young girl's dress then enlarged for all to see the beauty residing there. I like that tiny gold edging around the blackboard look background.

This is just fantastic Polly. You have done Mrs. D. very proud with this glorious paper pieced work of art. I am totally in love with these flowers you made. I was even checking for the stamp company and here they are Polly originals. I really love this card you made Polly and am truly impressed with all the creativity you put into this work of he(art). ~Karen.

What a perfect Polly card - this must have right up your alley. I especially like the layered stems, and the gold border around your uncharacteristcally, but challenge-inspired, dark background.

Love your marvelous creation, Polly. The embossed bg and gold trim give it a Mexican Folk art look. Your butterfly is adorable with those pretty wings and the hand drawn flowers are impressive!
