What a fantastic and interesting challenge this week for our tickle! Mrs. Delaney was a fascinating artist and to think she didn't start her art until age 72! I decided to add a butterfly to my collage garden. I paper pieced her dress and her wings...the wings are a piece of Joss paper that I got years ago in San Francisco. The flowers are ones I drew, watercolored, and then outlined in black pen. I cut two versions of the stems in different green colors and layered them as Mary did in her projects. Thank you Susan for introducing us to Mary Delaney's beautiful art.

I love your 'mosaick', Polly! Your artfully drawn flowers add such a presence to your collage. I like how you used the die cuts for the stems. The butterfly girl is charming with the flower strewn dress and the wings with the Joss paper add another layer of meaning. I like the patterned black paper and I love the gold trimmed edge. Thank you for your take on Mrs D's. legacy. See, we're spring chickens!!!

#weirdoartystuff (picture a huge smile) Oh wow Pol, this is brilliant!! Your hand drawn flowers are fabulous and I love the diecut stalks. Your vintage cutie patootie looks terrific, love her paper pieced dress, even though she doesn't look to thrilled to be wearing it. You nailed Susan's challenge - this is a truly unique peeps321 creation.
