Sweet Ms. Robin challenged us to consider the earth for our cards ... today is a special day for those of us that cherish the trees for shade, landscape, protection and beauty.
So how I did end up with a sympathy card? Good question. Let me see if I can explain my juxtaposed thoughts: When I think of the earth, I immediately think of God for his glorious creations. God also patterned us to follow the circle of creation: life and death .. so from the earth we garner the soil to bury our loved ones for their journey home, and so it begins again.
For sweet Ms. Anna's challenge, we were to use wind, water or fire in celebration of earth day as well. For that, I used mixed media paper to create a fire-like bg. I also used gold gmund as a layer to project the gold/yellow we see in flames or fires.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone. TFL

You always include a part of your sweet spirit in your cards, Anne. This one has so much meaning. Your bg just glows with warmth, like a real fire. The matting, die cut flower, and black bg look amazing. Into my favs.

You had to be extremely pleased when you finished this card. You captured the glow and warmth of fire with the bg, and it's perfect to frame the sentiment. Francie said it best with her comment on this card. TFS

I love this bible verse -- it speaks volumes to people like me who tire easily. Beautiful colors too!!
