This is for Linda's fun and incredibly messy Gold Mediums challenge.
The 4" square watercoloured panel started out life 5" x 7". The flowers were stamped with distress inks and the stems were done ever so carefully with a Zig maker. To watercolour the flower centres I used various shades of pink, orange and yellow distress re-inkers...................then I knocked over the water that the brushes were standing in.........and yes of course, I had taken the lids off the reinkers!!!
What happened next was reminiscent of the time I spilt the bottle of Pomegranate Dylusions ink spray in my lap - my downstairs lady bits glowed in the dark for weeks and weeks. I digress, I cleaned up the mess, that's 4 hours of my life I will never get back.
To cut a long story short, after this had dried the flowers and stems were not longer distinguishable, I cut it down to 4" square - the bits I cut off looked like a scene from CSI. The back of the watercolour paper looked better than the front, so here it is complete with white paint flicks, gold twine and gold die-cut.
I channeled my inner Sabrina aka Cook22 to add gold around the edges. I did this with Viva 3D gold paint.
Thanks for looking. I am going to have a little lay down now.

What a lovely simple card (ha ha ha). It hard to imaging all the "work" that went in to it. Just by reading your story I feel like having a lie down too. The background is a great work of art and I love the gold edging.

susie, dahling, pay all those needless messes no attention. Michangelo made untold numbers of messes everywhere. It's what artists go through to arrive at a masterpiece, which, of course, this definitely is one those.

Still laughing over the spill that caused you to "glow" for weeks - bet DH got a kick out of that! Your background turned out wonderful - love the gold die cut flowers, the white "flicks" and the "Sabrina" style gold edging - adds a lot to your card!! Awesome as you are!!!

Gorgeous, Susie! And such a funny story! I'm such a klutz, this kind of thing happens to me all the time. I get in such a hurry, I don't pay attention. But I can promise you, I'm not laughing when it happens. It probably sounds like a room full of sailors, lol.

First I had to stop laughing so I could actually write a comment. With all the mishaps, this turned out gorgeous. Your bg is so pretty and the gold flowers and trim are spectacular....see, I like it so much I even had to use a word that I am not sure how to spell - I never learned spell check of this super old tablet which is one step above a type writer (is that one word?). You even made this CAS. I am green with envy.
