Due to my tendency to procrastinate, I wound up needing a special card for my youngest son's 18th birthday at the same time I needed a sample card for the F4A challenge. Since my kids were little, I have made them very complex cards for their birthday's. If i had known that this would turn into a life long tradition, that first card would have been a CAS card instead of an " everything but the kitchen sink" card.I can make 10 regular cards in the time it takes to make one of these special cards. This is a shelf card, but I added a lot to it. All the elements are digital stamps because you need to work to get everything the same size. The movie curtain was narrow, so I printed and colored 2 , cut it in half, and added the center part from the 2nd one into the middle of the first curtain. Each of the little boys is colored and fussy cut, then popped up on a small square of clear acetate. The boy with the broken leg has balloons attached to the clear acetate so they look like they are floating. All the little scenes are events from my son's childhood. The entire card folds flat so you can mail it. It has a lot of green and blue for the F4A challenge. TFL, Francie

Oh, Francie, DITTO to all the above! My jaw dropped at the detail and our imagination! And it's so beautifully made! What an absolutely precious gift each birthday for your kids! You are a treasure, and what a blessing this card is. And, yes, I can see that it would take a very long time, but LOVE does that, doesn't it? I am in awe and totally love this! Wish Brad a very happy 18th! Hugs, sweet friend! You knocked this one "out of the park" and beyond!!

Francie, I'm going to cheat a little here and replicate what Sabrina said about your card: "It's a treasure box" filled to the brim with life's journey! What a wonderful gift and tradition for your family.

A stage is always great for setting a celebration card in - and never more so than here. I spy a broken leg in his past - and I love the dimension of the little blue blanket baby Brad is wrapped in.

Francie,
I have to say you did a Wonderful job on this card. My son is turning 18 this year as well and this card reminds me so much of him. (Including the leg that he broke when he was four.)

You may be able to make 10 regular cards in the time it takes to make one kitchen sink card, but OMGosh - it is so A-M-A-Z-I-N-G - and so worth the extra time! Cards like this are a FOREVER TREASURE!

Francie, I agree with all of the above! This is truly the most amazing card I have ever seen! What a special son to put all this work into making this for him! For me that would have been about 90 hours and still not turn out as nicely as this! BEAUTIFUL!!!! tfs
Congrats as I see this card is featured on Facebook today!
