Today's challenge is to make a card and identify whether we are a tortoise or a hare when it comes to card making (WT524). Well, there is no hesitation for me when I answer unequivocally: Tortoise!! I take FOREVER to make a card - so many choices, so many decisions! This card took me about 1 1/2 hours and that would be probably an average time for me. It's a good thing I enjoy the process as much as I do, or it would never make sense to spend that kind of time on a card!
Did a watercolor wash on a masked piece of wc cs for the background and was planning on making this a fast OLC (!), but too much water seeped out from my mask so I had to cut it down and frame it (and mat it too, of course). The frame is popped up with dimensionals - I think that adds so much to a card!
As always, your water coloring is just beautiful, Maura! I also love the silhouette of blooms on this card! Thanks so much for playing along with us at ATSM! Barb G.
This is beautiful!!! It's a gorgeous work of heART and that's why it makes sense to spend all the time we need, right? Gorgeous focal point!!! Beautiful card!

Yep, I'm right there with you - at least an hour and half for me too. Oh who am I kidding *giggle* I can take an entire day (she laughs). Seriously, this is a lovely card. My favorite medium is watercolor and you've done such a pretty background with it. Include script to that and I'm yours (she smiles) I just love the look of both. I can't begin to tell you how many of my card designs have taken a different course. They ended up being the ones I loved the most. Beautiful card today as well as a great write-up.

Pretty watercolored washes with the soft text in the bg...making a wonderful backdrop for your silhouetted flowers, Maura. Lovely choice of colors too.

Lovely restful colors for a sympathy card, Maura! Yes, I've had that happen too, but I love the look of your watercolor piece matted! So happy you could join us at ATSM!
