Funnily enough I started this card last night while watching the finals of the Olympic pairs ice dance. I was making it for the tea party where we are bringing Abner some colour - but not too much all at once! I'm bringing a touch of Canadian red - oh yeah! and lots of loop de loops with my double bows!!
So I was right on the money when I saw today's colour challenge. I'm going with Event #1 - one Olympic colour RED and one neutral BLACK and for dessert - one of the medal colours GOLD to celebrate the first place finish of Canada's Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir! Yay Canada!!
I embossed the right side of my white panel with the CB leaves and put it on a black card base. The maple leaf is embossed in shiny black, cut out and popped it up. Stamped and embossed the sentiment and coloured the heart with red copics. Matted in red card stock and popped it up.
Tied a double bow with some red gingham ribbon and added a gold star medal, er charm, with some gold cording also tied in a bow!!
Congrats to ALL the Olympians!
Thanks for taking a peek!

Great work on all the loop-the-loops .
This reminded me of some -well, now I can't think what to call them; not muffin trays, because they had a curved base. I used to make little jam tartlets in them. Anyway, they came from Canada when my mother moved over here, and I always remember knowing they were Canadian because each one had an embossed maple leaf in it. I wonder whatever happened to them. Thanks for the memory .

I love your card...and I'm not even Canadian. The leaf is perfect, and I love that cheerful ribbon. It is a beautiful tribute to your country. I think Canada has done an excellent job with the Olympics...loved the opening ceremonies and of course, the graphics and colors!!
BTW - I know you must be so proud of Joannie Rochette...everyone is!

Yay, for Canada! Fabulous skaters, I must say! Oh, I love this red with the white, Laurie. Oh, it really make Abner feel so better about himself. I think you've handled this highly sensitive matter wonderfully well. Mixing a little red with his comfort white color is superb! I bet you won his heart with this gold star winner!
