I really liked the mosaic look and the colors of yellow, gray, black and white immediately made me think of a butterfly. So, I had this brilliant idea to stamp a butterfly and do a mosaic!
Well, let me tell you......this took me way toooooo long and just DID NOT turn out the way it was in my head!!!!! So, the next time I think of mosaic butterfly.......Please, tell me.....Don't Do IT!!!!! Yikes!
I stamped a butterfly onto white cs and attempted to cut out shapes in glitter yellow and gray. I adhered them onto the butterfly. Then, I used the Versamark pen around the edges and in between the yellow and gray pieces and heat embossed with black detail ep. WOW....black ep is very difficult for me to work with! It smudges EVERYWHERE!!!!! Again....YIKES!!!!
I decided on a yellow and gray glitter bg. I stamped my sentiment with Whispers black ink on the yellow dp. All was fine until I went to glue it to the card and....WHAMMOOOO!!!! Smudge right up the side! For the Third time.....YIKES!!!!!
After a HUGE sigh (HHHUMMMMMM), I added yellow dew drops on top and bottom.
So, whadda think of my smudged yellow, gray and black mosaic faith butterfly card? :P

LOL...been there...many times!!! Love the sentiment and layout, and that glittery paper is great!!! Thanks for the chuckle though...not at the card, but at the experience! I'm sure we can all relate!

This is GAWGEOUS Lesley! I don't know who to feel more sorry for...your carpet in your craft room or you being covered in that glitter! You'll shine for days.

Sistah, personally, it is the BEST smugged, yellow, gray, black mosaic faith butterfly that ever cause angina! Whew. (Like that was easy!) Lol- we all have those cards that make us whacky, huh? Well, a least you wound up with a pretty card, that has beautiful words, and you are never going there again, right? Lesley, I love how you stuck it out, even when the card in your head did not match the card on the paper- still it is beautiful. Go have a margarita now!
P.S. Nice dew drops too!

I think this is terrific. I always use Black Craft ink and clear embossing powder. It seems to work better. If you hadn't told me about the goofs I would not know. This is beautiful. Great color combo...

Wow! I love all the glitz but I'm sorry you had such a rough time w/ it. If it were mine, I'd probably take a strip of black, glitter covered c/s wide enough to cover the smudge and tack it on top. I admire your tenacity!
