I made this for the ways to use challenge to make a shabby chic card. I started with a piece of designer paper that was basically blue, white, and brown. It had roses and a weathered wood look. I went over this with tim holtz stencil in a circle and speckled look using choco. chip ink. Then I used a rose a butterfly stencil from darice using white acrylic paint. I cut the medallion out and distressed the bottom layer by laying the tim holtz stencil over it and misting the distress spray. I use the same stencil and sponged choco chip ink over it too. I spritzed the ornate part of the medallion with the distress spray and went over it with the tim holtz stencil and choco chip ink too. Then I cut out my roses and painted each layer with two shades of blue --trying to leave plenty of white space. I loved the way they looked but decided they were too bold for the card and went over them lightly with some white acrylic paint. After finishing the roses I punched out some daisies and layered them. I sprayed the distress ink on the lace and glued it down. Then I took some script washi tape and put it over a piece of brown cs the same width as the tape, and layered it over the edge of the lace. Then I added a string of pearls using glossy accents to adhere it. Finally, I added the flowers and leaves. I finished it off with half pearls in the center of the roses, blue liquid pearls in the center of the daisies, and a touch of stickles on the leaves and stenciled butterfly and rose. This was a very time consuming card for me, but I really enjoy making the shabby chic style, so it was totally worth it!
Thanks for taking a peek!

Wow! Doubly perfect for Lisa's challenge since I know she loves blue. Those flowers are fabulous, they remind me of some blown glass ones I bought when I worked in Guernsey. And what wonderful antique looking lace, edged so well with the washi tape.
