This is my take on Inspiration Challenge #134. It was a picture of bedding, and the pattern of the bedding was called "State Fair". Well, I couldn't get past the title...I started thinking about fairs, the foods, etc...and then I remembered a never- before-inked stamp of a candy apple I had.
The candy apple image is from Hero Arts. I stamped the image multiple times with Marvy Dye black ink onto Georgia Pacific paper. I did some masking as the stamp is only one apple.
I colored the apples with Prismacolor pencils and the sticks with Copic markers. I then covered the apples with Diamond Glaze and let it dry completely. When dry, I went back over the apples with Copic markers in order to do some shading.
I had the idea then to cover one of the apples with nuts. Got stuck on that for a bit, and finally used crushed shells to serve as the nuts. I took some Adirondack caramel alcohol ink and blender solution to "color" the shells/nuts a nutlike color. I then adhered the nuts using Diamond Glaze.
Patterned paper, black cardstock, paper piercer, ribbon, white Pen-touch pen were also used.
"Oh, Nuts!" sentiment is from Simply Stamped.
Thanks for looking, and thanks for a great challenge.
