Fresh Oldies? WT167

Photo Details
|
 | | Well, I needed to make a birthday card for my dad and I don't have an abundance of masculine stamps so this is my attempt to use what I have! I've tried to make these oldies but goodies look sort of current. I was totally inspired by this card: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/480488 I embossed all of the stars in chocolate chip, and I embossed the sentiment in night of navy. My dad's favorite colors are orange and yellow, so my big challenge was to use these colors without the card looking too kiddie. I tried to tone down the yellow and orange by stamping those layers with the canvas background in chocolate chip. The yellow grosgrain ribbon is a find from the Dollar Tree and it's a perfect match to summer sun! Gotta love that! So, did I succeed in giving oldies new life? |
