Hi, my alter ego name is Gertie. This is my precious baby picture. I was quite precocious and goofy as a child and remain so to this day. The first word I ever spoke was Yikes! My parents were mortified, but soon learned to love me, for me. I grew up to be quite a talented card maker and my vocabulary grew to add Snort! and Awwwww, Phooey! I also became quite a story teller and am well renowned for my fabulous tales that bring much mirth and laughter to my friends. I so enjoy making my friends laugh.
My eyes werenÂ’t always googlie like this; the doctors told my parents they became this way because of my goofiness. The doctor said the only way to correct my googlie eyes is to become a serious person, but I choose not to do that because I know laughter is good for my overall health.
My good friend, LilLuvsStampin, asked if she could borrow my baby picture to participate in a card-making challenge with some friends. The challenge is to make a goofy card honoring me and had to include my googlie eyes, polkadots (because I so love polkadots---have you seen my dots room in my gallery?), and to tell a little story about me. I am quite tickled that my friends think so much of me to spend their precious card-making time to make a silly card on my behalf. I promised them that I wouldnÂ’t be mad, no matter what kind of card they made, because I know how important laughter is to the human soul and I know they love me.
Can you guess what my SCS username is? IÂ’ll give you a hint: itÂ’s very similar to the famous card-making company called Hallmark. As a matter of fact, thatÂ’s how I came upon selecting my SCS username because my real last name incorporates *mark* into the latter half of it.
Charlene, aka LilLuvsStampin, colorized my black and white photo somewhat by adding the pretty blue in my eyes and a touch of blush to my cheeks with her StampinÂ’ Up ink pads and marker. She knows that I love my flowers around my house, so she gave me this pretty prima to wear in my hair, and she also knows that blue is my favorite color.
And THAT is my story!
Creator's Note:
I issued this challenge to make a goofy card on behalf of our friend, Mothermark. The challenge requirements were:
1. make a goofy card
2. use googlie eyes
3. use polkadots
4. tell a story (optional)
The photo I used is actually a picture of one of the cutest baby cards I've ever seen. This baby has the biggest eyes and just appears to be so innocent. I keep this card on my desk at work because it's so darn cute, it makes me chuckle. Therefore, I decided to use it for my dear friend, who makes me laugh all the time.
P.S. I hope the googlie eyes didn't skeer any of you!

Charlene, that is so darn cute. Even with the googlie eyes, Gert was a beautiful baby. Thankfully she decided to keep those googlie eyes because she keeps us all in stitches most of the time. Our story teller is just a beautiful person inside and out. (The Dr. confirmed that on her last Dr visit when he made her say, "Aaaah".) I love what you have done with this card, it's adorable.
