Ever since I saw Marilynn's sketch challenge (175) for this last week, I couldn't get fans out of my mind. I was in a hurry the other day and so didn't think anymore about it. It's been on my mind, though and today after looking at some gallery additions, I went back to work. Didn't achieve the fan look, but I kind of see those Japanese paper lanterns.

This is absolutely beautiful. I'm new to making cards and you all are so talented and inspiring; I feel like even I can make a card to look good.
I have a question for you. I don't know how to make the "lantern" but looking at your card do you stamp your image first and then crimp? Did you have a circle before you stamped?

Oooh, Jean, love this card! Simply gorgeous is this! I really like the crimped half circles, too. Your stamped image is fabulous and your dp is wonderful. You got it going on for this one, that's for sure.
