My son works at a local nursery and last Thursday his boss (the owner) fell off a truck and broke 2 and ruptured 1 vertebrae in his neck. Due to the quick response of folks around him and the local fire department, he was able to leave the hospital the next day and was walking around the nursery on Monday. He has a very large neck brace on that keeps everything immobile, from the waist up and he will need surgery when the swelling goes down in a couple of months. I really think it is a miracle that he can be up and about walking with such an injury. I made this card for him.
The sentiment was printed on my computer. I used the scor-pal to make the lines in the top "stained glass" panel. I use the basic black pad gently over the panel before coloring to give it a distressed/dirty glass look (thinking it may be more masculine) then used the 2-way glue pen in the scores with the black embossing powder. I used versa mark over the entire section and embossed with the glassy glaze enamel 3 times. I tried not to melt the glaze completely the last time to give it the look of very old glass, which has a wavy melted appearance. The top panel and sentiment are attached with dimensional between the black layer and the card. The jewels are attached with 2-way glue pen.
