I had intended to use this pattern/style of handbag for the "Handbag 'Purse'-onality" challenge. But I hadn't done that challenge when the "Burberry Plaid" challenge was listed and so decided to use the design for this card instead. (As it turns out I don't have any lunch bags to do the Purse challenge anyway!!!)
The reason I had chosen this design anyway is because I have a very good friend who owns a Burberry Handbag and I've heard her talk of it often, she uses it every day and she loves it so much that her Grandmother made her a "mock" Burberry nappy (diaper) bag when her daughter was born!!!!! Anyway ............
I cut out 1/2" squares from Basic Black, Going Gray and Whisper White and stuck them down to a grid that I'd drawn onto some Vellum. Once I had my two pieces for each side, I stuck them down onto some more vellum before adding the Chocolate Chip strips, thus creating the lighter effect of the Creamy Caramel towards the lower part of the card. I then adhered both pieces to each side of the card and added the Real Red strips. I thought the sentiment was apt, given that most of us all dream of owning a designer handbag ............... and sometimes, some of us are lucky enough to achieve that dream!!!!!
Would love to know what you think.
