as promised, I was amazed looking at the sky as I drove on I95 yesterday, heading up to my Mom's. The sky was actually gray, and I was surprised to see how many different shades of gray it was. And the sky had long strands of colors... I tried to recreate this in BLUES, since the only shade of grey ink I have is going gray... So I used a torn paper mask and starting with bordering blue at the bottom of the sky, worked up with buckaroo blue, and three other shades, not quite navy, night of navy and one more.... I then stamped the trees in night of navy and moved the stamp around as I stamped off to make my forest. I added white stamped snowflakes but they did not show up, so I added cuttled snowflakes with my cuttlebug die at the very end. . To add texture to the snow I used the mask again and VERY LIGHTLY sponged bits of night of navy, in both the sky and the snow. I moved the mask around to make the scallops of color irregular so it would look more natural. Hope this makes sense, if you have any ??? you can always pm me. And I must thank Michelle Zindorf for the inspiration, her work has been thrilling me since I first saw it in the galleries, and she has done inkcredible things with this set! I used the dazzling diamonds technique on the main panel and then matted it. The blue mat is actually white that I markered, I did not have night of navy paper and I wanted the mat to POP my forest.
Thanks for looking!
