I combined two challenges with this card: WT141 and TLC91. I was reading up on different challenges today because I haven't done many of them and came across the Faux Wood Technique. I thought this would be a nice experience to try this with a real stitched card (real stitching is something else I haven't done).
The landscape image is from a SU set that I picked up in 1998 (the date stamp is on the label), but I do not know the name of this set. If anyone knows, please tell me so I can update my list! TY!
I used a Stampscapes stamp (the man in the boat) with the SU landscape stamp. I thought he was well proportioned with the trees and fit in nicely. I did faux stitching around the main image, but did sew green twine along the edge of the card. I distressed the edges of the cardstock to give it a more rustic feel.
It was fun to try two new techniques tonight. There's so much to learn from this website - I'm thankful for being a part of our SCS community.... TFL!
Edited to add: Some very kind folks let me know this stamp comes from SU set "Beauty of Life". Thank you for helping me identify this one!!!

Very nice card. Love the stitched effect. It is nice to see an embellisment on a male card. It can be hard to come up with one. You have added the perfect touch.

I like your stitching, woodgrain and how you added the man into the scene. I have that image and it's from a set named Beauty of Life, it's only one I have from the set...garage sale find!
