My first-ever trifold card and I am so tickled with how how it turned out!!! I cut a piece of 12x12 brown CS down to 12x5.5, and made one score at just above 4" and one score just below 4" so the two flaps would fold down without interfering with each other. I just love how the scallop oval shape kind of looks like the alligator bit a hole in the card so he can see out. The hole was cut out using the Coluzzle Bookplates template. To cut the patterned paper lining the card on the opposite side of the front, I had to cut an oval using my Coluzzle oval companion, and remove the extra paper at the top and bottom of the oval using my Coluzzle circle companion template.
I was able to use up a lot of scraps doing this too, to stamp the leaves and animal images on then cut out and apply to the card. The jungle plants were stamped in Peeled Paint and Shabby Shutters, alligator was stamped in Peeled Paint, hippos were stamped in Faded Jeans, and the giraffe, lion, monkey, and vines were stamped in Vintage Photo. I coloured in the animals just using some Crayola pencil crayons I got as a gift with purchase. The only "fancy" colouring I did was on the alligator -- light green on his skin with darker green around the edges and on his feet, and dark green coloured over with dark brown on his spiny back. I edged around him with the dark brown to make him stand out from the patterned paper he was stamped on.
Paper: Bazzill textured CS in Java, green retro floral PP by Sandylion to line inside of card, scraps of generic greens, tans, white, yellow, and grey for the animals and leaves.
