Wow! I read abou the bottlecap under techniques and had to see it. Now I have to try it! Where do I find bottlecaps? Do I need to drink a whole bunch of beer?

You can use used ones, or go to a homebrew store and buy new ones-just use your heat gun and heat up the rubber inside and pull it out with tweezers or something like that before you use it.

While you can certainly obtain clean, unused bottlecaps by the thousands from your neighborhood homebrew store, and many folks actually believe that they work "just fine", it has long been and continues to be the official, professional opinion of this organization that the best results from this bottlecap technique can only be obtained through the use of authentic caps from actual beer bottles.
In particular, we've found the various Mexican beers - among them Dos Equis, Negro Modelo, and of course Corona - with a little lime - stored at a consistent temperature just above freezing - to be especially suitable. It can sometimes require several attempts (we recommend a fresh cap each time) to get this right, but the results are definitely worth it.
Experienced stampers, always on the lookout for that perfect masculine card, have been universally surprised and delighted at the enthusiastic reaction to this technique.

Just finding one of these heavily scented bottlecaps on a card is also a romantic treat for that beer conniseur (sp?) in your life.
My husband's personal favorite is from our own brand, "Hair of the Dog" If you are lucky to find any authentic Sophie hair in the bottle, you get another free beer. Supply is limited and the regional area is only our basement and surrounding homes.

You can actually find the bottle caps in little bags in the stamping and scrapbooking stores now. A bit fresher smelling for those that don't drink the beer. Happy stamping.
