-grumble grumble- Sure hope this shows up eventually since the gallery seems to be having some issues right now, which just fits in with the night I'm having.
K, so, I had this idea for this card and I wanted to watercolor the flower with Eggplant and Turquoise (light enough to pass for Caribbean) for the color challenge. I get out my wonderful Watercolor Wonder Crayons and discover I HAVE NO EGGPLANT CRAYON. When I got my WWC last month, I found a Tempting Turquoise in the Rich Regals box where Taken With Teal should have been, so I called DS and got a Teal crayon sent to me. Well, when I looked closer tonight, I discovered the teal crayon was on down the line and it's really the Eggplant one that's missing!! So I'll have to call DS again tomorrow as it's too late now. So I just used the WWC for the stem and watercolored with ink pad lits for the flower itself. I kinda liked how it turned out and I think the shimmery white paper is SO much better for watercoloring than Whisper White. I'm in lurve with it. I used Tempting Turquoise to shade the Caribbean part of the flower a little bit and just let the Eggplant fade out the farther away from the flower center it was.
I had an idea for the Paisley block that really didn't turn out as well as I had hoped...I stamped the Paisley with white craft ink, and then I sponged on Cool Caribbean on top of it. Didn't turn quite as CC as I had hoped it would (plus I got a lighter colored patch on my CC pad even though I used the heat gun to speed up drying time). Not real sure I like the ribbon and the tag, but hey, it's done now. And I think maybe I should have sponged on the CC card base or something...ok yeah, I'm just frustrated.

I think it's gorgeous just the way it is! So, go ahead, buy more stamps, papers, inks, pencils, whatever... you're doing great. This is definitely going in my favorites!

Well, for all the frustration you went through, it was totally worth it! I love EVERYTHING about this card and now I wish more than ever that I had that In Full Bloom set. I would soooo be CASEing this right now. Wonder if I could find another set to substitute.... Better put this into my faves just in case!
